About Us
Combating Illiteracy is a literacy initiative created by the ABC Foundation in Sydney, Australia.
The ABC Foundation was formed in 2001 by a group of teachers and
education specialists from around the Sydney Metropolitan area in an
attempt to help students, Years 3 to 10, who are struggling with their
literacy skills. The ABC Foundation believes that children can
successfully combat and overcome their literacy problems outside the
school environment with a specialised literacy program. With this in
mind, the ABC Foundation has set up six learning centres around Sydney
to empower young people and their families through education and
literacy, to ensure a bright future for all.
