ASIO rushed Oceanic Viking asylum checks

Opposition leader has foreshadowed a stricter asylum seeker policy if re-elected, as current Immigration Minister Chris Evans acknowledged overcrowding at the Christmas Island detention facility. It has also been revealed that the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation had to speed up its usual process of assessment when 78 Sri Lankan refugees were held aboard the Customs vessel "Oceanic Viking".
