Welcome To The Mother Country

Although the lives of asylum seekers only register on the radar of most people when issues related to immigration and detention dominate the media after a crisis, the relationships being built between asylum seekers and carers are far longer lasting and enduring. In an article published by New Matilda, Fiona Rutkay interviews some of the community workers and carers who have built long term relationships with people in detention, who are now themselves members of the larger community.
